Why Human Support Still Matters in Digital Transformation

The moment everything becomes real
There’s a particular energy that surrounds a go-live week. Months of planning, configuration, testing and preparation suddenly meet reality. Systems switch on. End users log in for the first time. And somewhere, a team of people holds its breath.
It’s the moment where theory becomes practice. Where all those carefully documented processes are put to the test by the people who’ll actually use them, day in and day out.
We talk a lot in our industry about the technology. The platforms. The integrations. The data migrations. And rightly so. These are complex, high-stakes undertakings that demand precision and expertise.
But there’s something we don’t talk about nearly enough: the people who keep everything together when the pressure peaks.
Technology transforms. People deliver.
Recently, our Solution Architect, Pruthvee Narang, supported a major S/4HANA go-live as part of a wider project team. The customer was a manufacturer, modernising operations that span traditional production and additive manufacturing.
It was a brilliant reminder of something we believe deeply at Dragonfly: successful implementations aren’t just about transformation, technology and innovation. They’re about humans helping humans navigate change.
The consultants who stay calm when a ticket queue builds. The ones who translate jargon into reassurance. The ones who make end users feel supported, not overwhelmed, whether they’re managing a shop floor or overseeing a 3D printing workflow.
That’s the work that makes the difference between a system that’s technically live and one that’s genuinely adopted.
Manufacturing is evolving, and so must our approach
The manufacturing sector is transforming rapidly. Additive manufacturing, digital supply chains, predictive analytics: these aren’t future concepts anymore. They’re today’s reality for businesses looking to stay competitive.
But here’s what doesn’t change: the need for people who understand both the technology and the humans who use it.
A 3D printer is only as effective as the team trained to operate it. An S/4HANA landscape is only as valuable as the end users who trust it. And a go-live is only as successful as the support that surrounds it.
This is where we add genuine value. Not just in configuring systems, but in bridging the gap between what technology can do and what people need it to do.
The ones who stay calm
Every go-live has its moments. The moments don’t appear in project plans. They don’t have their own workstream. But they matter enormously, because they’re the moments that shape how people feel about change.
And how people feel about change determines whether they embrace it or resist it.
That’s why we’re so proud of our team. They understand that their job isn’t just to solve problems, but to make people feel supported whilst they do it.
It’s always about the people
At Dragonfly, we work at the intersection of technology and humanity. We help organisations optimise their supply chains, modernise their systems and embrace innovation. But we never lose sight of the fact that behind every process, every workflow, every data point, there are people.
People in the midst of change, looking for clarity rather than complexity and the kind of support that feels as human as it is expert.
That’s what we’re here for. And that’s what we’ll keep championing, one go-live at a time.
